Lefkas Island
Lefkada- There is just so much to do on Lefkada. OK I know, we already are lucky enough to live here, so we are a little biased. It is amazing, when we talk to people from Northern Europe most have not even heard about Lefkada Island . A lot of visitors first find out about Lefkas and the Ionian Islands while on a "Sailing Holiday" in the area. We have tried to outline some of the Lefkada's many attractions on the page below.
It doesn't matter if you want a relaxed "chill out by the pool" holiday with strolls on fabulous beaches, watching dramatic sunsets and sampling some of the great restaurants or Greek Tavernas. Or you might prefer a more some of the local activities like sailing, kayaking, hiking, windsurfing,horse riding etc. Not to mention "white water rafting" Lefkada has it all! More than that it is one of the best places in the world for some activities like sailing. wind surfing and kite surfing.
Sailing
Lefkada( Lefkas ) island Greece The variety and extent of Lefkada coastline make it possible for bathers to enjoy an infinite number of different places to swim, all of them lapped by warm, crystal clear water. The beach at Gyra at the entrance of the island is one of the most beautiful in Greece. Other beautiful beaches of the island are : Agios Nikitas, Vassiliki, Giros, Sivota, Porto-Katsiki, Kathisma, Nidri and many more.
Windsurfing
WaterSweets ocean Festival. The second year of this special event is planned for the beginning of July 2008. There was no doubt about the location of the festival after the success of the first year: the popular summer resort Vassiliki, which given its favorable weather conditions, is considered one of the best locations for water sports in Europe. At the same time, it is excellently positioned for the festival's other events, such as matches, concerts, dance and music performances and competitions for both children and adults. The program will be prepared in cooperation with accomplished sports people and artists from the Czech Republic and other European countries.
